Property System

We are looking for a Standalone Property System. If you use this type of system would you mind sharing which one and possibly any pros or cons of the system?

Responses here or email, cfekete@bedfordva.gov would be greatly appreciated.

Hope everyone is well.

FPD utilizes Tracker Products/SAFE. It is a stand alone system. We have been customers with Tracker Products since 2011. I LOVE this system. We have the ability to generate disposition report, audit reports, can customize tags for cases and items. It has an automated "tasking" system. Offense types are assigned a "review date" (determined by the agency) eg. Shoplifting = 365 days. When that review date hits, the officer receives an automated message asking him/her to review the case and let the property staff know if items need to be held or if they can be destroyed. We LOVE tasking. I can't say enough good things about Tracker Products/SAFE. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Centralized Communications Section Standards

We discussed this briefly at our July 2024 meeting: Aberdeen's Communications Section was eliminated and our PCOs now work for the centralized Harford County Dept of Emergency Services (DES).

I understand that Ch 81 Communications standards apply to DES and that I must collect from DES Ch 81 policies and proofs of compliance.

Question: WHAT OTHER SPECIFIC STANDARDS APPLY TO DES OPERATIONS AND THE DISPATCHERS?

(Are there any standards in Ch 31 Recruitment and Selection? Ch 33 Training & Career Development, or any other Chapters?) Please help!

Shirley, can you clarify please? Are the dispatchers considered employees of the Aberdeen PD but they just work at a new location OR are the dispatchers considered Harford County employees? Whose payroll are they on?

In my opinion, if they are Aberdeen Police Department employees who just happen to work at a different location, then all standards that apply to all Aberdeen PD employees would also be applicable to them including anything in chapters 31, 33 etc.

If they are Harford County employees then I think just the communications standards would apply.

Just my opinion - you might want to confirm this w/ our Program Manager.
