Sick Leave Award
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is seeking examples of agency's policy regarding (Sick Leave Awards) does your agency award employees for not using sick leave throughout a year? What incentive/award do you offer?

we do not do this - we did it years ago but it was discontinued. Employees used to receive a monetary payout every December for a portion of their unused sick leave. All this accomplished was to make the workforce sicker because employees would come to work sick instead of taking a sick day so that they could get the payout.
Now there is a formula that for every so many hours of unused sick time at your retirement, you can receive a certain % credit of additional days/years of service. At normal retirement these additional days are added to your total number of years of service and therefore your retirement payout goes up. make sense?
